Our Story

Equinox Landscapes was founded in 2003 by Tom Milam with a vision to create a company where every detail—no matter how small—truly matters. That commitment to excellence has been the foundation of our work from day one, embodied in our motto: “It’s not right unless it’s perfect.”

In our early days, we focused on minor design and installation projects, drawing from our founder’s extensive industry experience. By 2004, we expanded into mowing and maintenance operations, followed by our first hardscape projects, lawn treatments, and overseeding in 2005.

Our growth continued over the years, and by 2018-2019, we significantly expanded our grading and hardscape operations while introducing water and erosion control solutions. Staying at the forefront of industry advancements has always been a priority, which is why in 2020, we began incorporating Unilock products into our hardscape projects. The unmatched quality and durability of Unilock led us to make the full transition to exclusively using their pavers in 2022.

In 2023, we elevated our landscape lighting offerings by adopting FX Luminaire products, renowned for their innovation and quality. That same year, we dramatically expanded our capabilities in grading, hardscaping, and erosion control, allowing us to offer even more solutions to our customers.

A major milestone came in 2024 when we became the first landscape and hardscape contractor to utilize a GPS-guided grading system—delivering an unprecedented level of accuracy, down to one-hundredth of an inch. This cutting-edge technology ensures flawless precision in every project we undertake.

Now, in 2025, after an intensive, year-long certification process, we are proud to be recognized as a Unilock Authorized Contractor. This distinction is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and detail. As a factory-backed contractor, we offer a two-year workmanship guarantee, something no other company can claim. More importantly, our promise goes beyond just making a project look good on day one—we ensure it stands the test of time for years to come.
